Vintage Christmas Cards | Santa Carrying Presents

Vintage Christmas Cards

I just love this vintage Christmas card of Santa carrying all the presents from his sleigh to the house. All of us dreamed of getting a bunch of presents like this when we were growing up.

That little doll hanging at his side with what looks like a snowman is fantastic too.

Santa's face looks so determined to make sure he gets it right. I like how the artist captured that.
This sure isn't any wimpy Santa. Great image of a moment all of seem to have registered in our minds.

Vintage Christmas Cards

Vintage Christmas Card | Little Girl

Vintage Christmas Card

I love these Christmas cards of childhood innocence, and this one of the little girl riding the wooden pony is so cute and delightful. You can picture her just receiving on Christmas day and galloping around the house over and over again.

That hairstyle is so old that it fits in with certain people in our day, which shows everything returns back to its origins sooner or later.

Another thing I like about these old Christmas cards is the rosy cheeks of the children and interesting color combinations most artists of today wouldn't think of doing. Great Christmas card from days gone by.

Vintage Christmas Card | Little Boy

Vintage Christmas Card

I remember seeing this vintage Christmas card years ago, and never ceases to be among my favorites, as the little boy attempts to bring all those goodies home, but his eyes were bigger than his ability to deliver the goodies.

It doesn't look like it's bothering him though, as he's seeming to have a lot of fun trying to bring as many home as he can.

Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Santa Angel

Vintage Christmas Card

This vintage Christmas card of the angel with her hand on Santa's shoulder while he's about to gather up his gifts for Christmas eve delivery is another reason why I really enjoy vintage Christmas cards.

It's almost like the angel is saying she'll guide Santa on his way to doing his good deeds. Great Christmas card.

Vintage Christmas Decorations| Albino Deer

Vintage Christmas Decorations

This set of Christmas albino deer are extraordinary to me, and they absolutely look fantastic.

I am a Christmas decoration nut, and seeing these albino Christmas deer made me wish I have a few, as I can already picture where I could put them. Alas, at this time it's not to be; but I can hope!

Interestingly, I think I remember something similar to these when I was a child growing up; at least as far as the deer go. One thing nice about them is while they are similar in looks, they are still completely different as well, with the one having a base gold and the pink flowers, while the other one looking like it's ready to hop away. And how about those eyes on the doe? Cute.

Vintage Christmas Decorations | Victorian Stocking

Victorian Christmas Stocking

This is a nice Victorian Christmas stocking, and it includes an array of related themes to that period of time and what inspired people.

What is really great about this Victorian stocking is it shows a little bit of everything, and seeing Santa and children in how they dressed and how people imagined Santa is a great reminder and piece of history.

Vintage Christmas Card | Girl Skating

Vintage Christmas Card

This is just a fantastic image of the skating girl and her little dog running beside her. But what is great to me is the extraordinary detail of her clothing, which gives a window to the past.

What really caught my eye was the hand warmer, which brought back memories of my grandmother when she was 17-years-old in about 1900, where she wore one of those while having a picture taken of her.

Great vintage card.

Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Santa Watching Children with Christmas Gifts

Vintage Christmas Card

As with many vintage Christmas cards, they show far more than simply a Christmas greeting or salutation, which was important in those times, just like it is today.

But it also reveals a wonderful history of the period, as you can tell from the clothing worn by the children.

The toys are also a telltale sign of an era long gone, but is sure is fun to see those things again. Did you see the drum lying on the floor? Great image.
Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Victorian Children

Vintage Christmas Card

This vintage Christmas card is in reality from the Victorian period, and the clothing a little different than a little later, as well as the way they depicted the faces of the children.

Those little caps they're wearing are also unique, and I enjoy the inclusion of the ivy to give it some Christmas color.

Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Children Meeting with Frosty the Snowman

Vintage Christmas Card

I always like the way people from the period these cards were made always adhered to the traditional colors of Christmas by including the colors green and red when they could, as you can see from the two girls in front of the image.

The dog standing up for what appears to be what they imagined Frosty the Snowman to look like is also great. On the other hand, I don't know if Frosty the Snowman had been thought of in that day, so maybe he's someone different. Either way, pretty cool rendering of children meeting a talking snowman with their puppy.

Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Girl Playing with Cat

Vintage Christmas Card

I like everything about this vintage Christmas card of the little girl trying to get the attention of the cat, who seems to be eyeing the interesting toy turtle which he's deciding to pounce upon.

Another nice feature of the image is the inclusion of the Christmas colors in the little girls dress and the toys spread around the room. Great touch. Fantastic vintage Christmas card.

Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Angel Reading to Children

Vintage Christmas Card

When you look at this vintage Christmas card, it seems a mother is sitting down with her children to read, but look closer and it's actually an angel reading to the fascinated and attentive children.

Another thing that was nice about this was the vivid red colors that stand out, and I also like the more subtle blues. Great vintage Christmas card.

Vintage Christmas Card

Vintage Christmas Card | Snow Lane

Vintage Christmas Card

This is one of my favorite vintage Christmas cards I've ever seen, and it seems to capture everything good about a time long gone. But at the same time, as with other things that are vintage, it also captures something eternal in that if you took away some of the fashion and background of the photo, and put the participants in a modern setting, you would show something that is as timeless as anything: the love between a man and a woman.

For whatever reason, this fantastic vintage Christmas card really catches that and displays it in a wonderful way.

Vintage Postcard | Christmas with Angels

Vintage Christmas Postcard

Vintage postcards are fantastic to me, and the ones showing Christmas scenes and themes are especially compelling. They always bring back memories of how we felt in childhood, and those memories are worth being reminded of through vintage Christmas postcards.

The types of postcards which include children as angels or cherubs display an innocence we all wish could be brought back into the world, and the image above is one that does just that.

No wonder vintage postcards with Christmas themes are so desired and collectible.

Collectible Plates | A Father's Love

Collectible Plates

This plate from "A Father's Love" series is terrific, and is called Swing Time, showing a dad pushing his daughter on a swing.

It's always nice to see a great item showing the close bond between a father and a daughter, especially since the media and those who hate the family attempt to demonize fathers for no other reason than being a father.

Great collectible plate showing healthy and loving relationship between a father and his daughter.

Vintage Halloween Costume | Bullwinkle

Vintage Halloween Costume

Now here's a vintage Halloween costume of a character that will never go out of style, and I think you can still see him on TV channels to this day. I guees Bullwinkle doesn't wrinkle, and he maintains his age very well. And we wouldn't have it any other way would we?

As far as Vintage Halloween costumes like Bullwinkle, the trouble is if you really had it in good condition, you would never want to wear it in fear of ruining it. Maybe it could be hung up for guests to see and enjoy.

Vintage Halloween Costume

Vintage Halloween Costume | Top Cat

Vintage Halloween Costume

Who doesn't remember this rascal from the times: Top Cat. And he really thought he was too. What a great vintage Halloween costume that reminds us of those great cartoons from years gone by.

I wonder if Top Cat still plays any longer, as it seems just about every TV cartoon character comes back for a successful encore. Great Halloween costume of Top Cat.

Vintage Halloween Costume

Vintage Halloween Costume | Girl Indian

Vintage Halloween Costume

Isn't this a really cute little Indian maiden costume from long ago? And trick or treat bag is just as cool as the Indian costume to me, and a nice collectible on its own; if you could ever find one.

What an adorable little fringed Halloween little girl Indian costume of those days. She sure looks like she's talking to that bag, telling it something like it better be full when she's through going around the neighborhood.

And as compelling as she looked, I'm sure she got a lot of candy that Halloween.

Vintage Halloween Costume

Vintage Halloween Costume | Witch from Wizard of Oz

Vintage Halloween Costume

Very fun vintage Halloween costume from the Wizard of Oz, and it's pretty cool how the bike of that day mirrored the one the neighbor lady rode, which became the witch in the story.

For the day that's not a bad witch's mask either, and the cloak would fit in with Goth today. Fun vintage witch costume.

Vintage Halloween Costume

Vintage Halloween Costume | Groovy "Drac"

Vintage Halloween Costume

Let's face it, what's really cool about vintage Halloween costumes is how uncool they really are, and this GROOVY GHOULIES "DRAC" HALLOWEEN COSTUME from 1971 fits right into that category.

Today's Dracula Halloween costumes are usually very scary, or at minimum, extremely realistic looking. That wasn't the point of vintage Halloween costumes, which were meant to be more of a caricature of the character, than one to be truly scary and taken seriously as they are today.

Now who would be afraid of this friendly Dracula?

Collectible Knives | German Bulldog

Collectible Knives

This collectible German made Bulldog knive is pretty difficult to find, as it was a limited edition, and highly sought after.

Included are elephant ivory scales handle and as you can see - copperhead. The length of the knife is 3 3/4".

I've also enjoyed the brown and cream color contrast, and so really like the looks of this knife. Bulldog is a great collectible knife.

Vintage Fashion | Grey Woman's Outfit

Vintage Fashion

This is really a vintage woman's fashion outfit, and not only are the clothes themselves collectible, but the piece showing the clothing as well.

While looking somewhat drab because of the dull, grey color, I still like the fit of this vintage clothing, and if nothing else, that red hat saves the day for her.

And those white gloves look cute on her, and also help rescue the day.

I wouldn't be surprised though to see something like this be a hit today, as vintage fashion is always hot, and no matter what happens, it always comes back into style.

Weta has released their latest polystone collectible from Lord of the Rings; this time a great piece showing the Argonath, the two kings seen when traveling the river by the fellowship of the ring.

If you want it don't wait too long though, as it's a limited edition of 500, so move on it before they're gone. This will be a great addition to any Lord of the Rings collection.

Collectible Guns | Thompson Contender

Collectible Guns

Thompson Contenders are great for putting together interesting combinations, and the one shown here includes a 10" HEX barrel, a rare caliber, 30 carbine.

Some collectors and gun users consider the .30 carbine round to not be as good as the .357, but when desiring a semi automatic, a .30 is very tempting to employ for the gun.

A .357 is usually preferred for a lever gun or revolver, making the .30 harder to find.

Vintage Fashion | Khaki Skirt Dress

Vintage Fashion

This is one reason why vintage and collectible fashion is so fun to wear, look at and write about.

I love this beautiful full skirt khaki stripe faux lace dress showcased here, and the design on the chest and skirt are wonderful in their simplicity and beauty. Love those pleats as well.

That belt is also very nice. A great vintage dress that has long stood the test of time and still looks great when looking at and wearing it.

Collectible Dolls | Miss Kitty's Stroll

Collectible Dolls

This limited edition of Robert Tonner's Miss Kitty's Stroll is exquisite, and while representing a fictional time, definitely has a touch of Victorian in her look and clothes.

She is elegant, and carries the vintage look very well. The doll is 18" tall and made of vinyl. With only 200 made worldwide, it isn't an easy doll to find, but an extraordinary addition to any doll collectors collection.

Collectible Bottles | Antique Seltzer Bottles

Collectible Bottles

Collectible Seltzer bottles are becoming increasingly popular, and from these nice looking ones, you can see why.

While the colors are nice, the art etchings on them are especially nice, and company logos always a major part of the attraction.

Bottles are among some of my favorite collectibles, and Seltzer bottles are definitely part of that enjoyment.

Coca Cola Collectibles | Large Cooler

Coca Cola Collectibles

When I looked at this Coca Cola cooler on wheels, it reminded me of one I had years ago, which was given to me by a school. I didn't have it home for more than a day when someone came by and made me a big offer on it.

That made me realize that Coca Cola coolers were highly collectible and hard to get.

While mine wasn't this exact model, it was a great cooler I used for it's original purpose.

Thinking back on this, it is strange, as I can't remember what I did with my Coca Cola cooler.

Classic Motorcycle | Moto Guzzi 254 quattro

Classic Motorcycle

This photo of a Moto Guzzi 254 Quattro, is of a 1979 bike with very little wear and tear, and everything on it is original.

This Moto Guzzi 254 Quattro has a 238 cc four cylinder four stroke engine.

I never get tired of seeing older motorcycles, no matter what the time period is, and this Moto Guzzi, while not having the feel of a chopper or a customized look, still is worth a look, to show what was being used in that particular time period.

Classic Bicycles | Singer British Challenge Highwheel

Classic Bicycles

In the photo above, you have the 1885 Singer British Challenge highwheel, manufactured by the Coventry Machinists' Company in Coventry, England.

This is a great example of a highwheel from that period, as the majority of parts are orginal, giving you an almost exact look at what it looked like coming out of the factory in that day.

The height of the front wheel is 56 inches, while the back wheel is 18 inches in diameter, and weight in at close to 60 pounds.

Antique Marbles

Here's a nice look at some antique marbles from America and Germany; both handmade and machine made. Some are obvious as to how they were made and others not so obvious.

Antique Toilet | Victorian Style Toilet

Antique Toilet

While most of us don't think in terms of toilets and artwork, many of the antique toilets from the past are made beautifully, and were considered a piece of artwork, not only a practical device to use.

As you can see from this Victorian style toilet made by T.R. & Company in 1902, this fills the bill exactly.

What is interesting to me is that beautiful toilet, and than the inclusion of what looks like a somewhat boring oak finished tank. While it looks nice, it seems to clash with the toilet style.

Either way, a nice piece of art, in spite of its purpose.

Antique Lamps | Argand Bronze Lamp

Antique Lamps

Very few things are as nicely made as an antique lamp, and this Argand bronze antique lamp. - Ca 1850 - is a beauty.

These types of lamps go so nicely with almost any home decor, and the Argand Bronze Lamp is fantastic.

I always have enjoyed those hanging parts coming down from the globe holders, and they look very unique and different than some of the others out there.

Nice looking Argand Bronze Lamp, which would look great in any home.

Antique Jewelry | Antique Dragonfly Jewelry

Antique Jewelry

Antique jewelry is considered an antique when it's 100 years older or more, and can divided into periods like Georgian, Early Victorian, Mid-Victorian, Late Victorian, Arts and Crafts era, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro. This piece of antique jewelry shaped as a dragonfly is really a nice piece, as you can see in the photo. Who wouldn't want that?

Jewelry is a highly collectible category, and antique jewelry is highly desirable by collectors, who can't seem to get enough of it.

Consequently, with all that competition for antique jewelry, it gets harder and harder to find great stuff, let along great jewelry at a good price. But it can be found, and that's part of the fun of collecting jewelry: the hunt. Enjoy this great piece in the photo.

Black Memorabilia | Figurine of Boys

Black Memorabilia

There is a lot of black memorabilia on the market, and it is highly desired. This quality piece of three young black boys eating watermelon by a fence is really nicely done.

Evidently some people get upset in seeing a figurine or piece of art like this, but in this case I can't see why. It's just a very well done piece of art which is a great collectible and a look at the past of American blacks. The work itself is of very high quality in my estimation.

Vintage Fountain Pens | Pelikan 100 Lapis Yellow from 1930

I'm not sure where it came from, but I've always loved fountain pens, and vintage fountain pens are among one of my favorite collectibles.

In the photo above it's a Pelikan 100 Lapis Yellow from around 1930. I really like its simple shape and nice handle.

Collectible Bottles | Cobalt Blue Bottles

Collectible Bottles

The deep blue of the cobalt blue bottles attracts many bottle collectors to them, and for good reason: they look fantastic.

In this photo of these two cobalt blue bottles, the one on the left is labeled "Bromo-Seltzer Emerson Drug Co Baltimore, MD (in capital letters), while the one on the right wasn't identified.

Of course the Bromo-Seltzer bottle is collectible from more than one sector of collectors.

But even if you just want something to look great in your home the cobalt blue bottle is an extraordinary piece to add to your decor.

This is why collecting bottles are so fun and desirable; they have many uses and are very profitable if you want to sell them. Cobalt blue collectible bottles are among the most beautiful and desirable.

Figurine of Sawyer from "Lost"

Collectible Figurines

While many of us consider a collectible needing to be old, that's far from true in a lot of instances, and when looking at this figurine from the popular "Lost" tv series of Sawyer, you can see why.

Let's face it, if we didn't collect newer figurines like Sawyer from Lost, there wouldn't be any interest or market years down the road.

Anyway, this is a nice figurine and a good one for any fan of the Lost TV series, or anyone that likes figurines, celebrity or entertainment memorabilia.

Vintage Tattoos | Classic Cars

Vintage Tattoos of Classic Cars

When I saw these vintage tattoos of classic cars, I had to include them, as they were really captured well, and the artwork and color unveils the time capsule these cars always will exist in.

To me the sun and the skull take away from the classic car tattoos, and I would have rather had them out of the picture, which makes me think they may have been inked before the idea of the classic car tattoos were thought of, and so had to be worked around rather than removed; which is very expensive to do.

But as far as the classic car tattoos go, they are fantastic, and the tattoo designer and artist did a great job in showing how they looked and capturing their essence in that time capsule.

This military green diecast Humvee is 1/18th scale and a great military collectible to add to your collection.

A great diecast military humvee vehicle.
