Lord of the Rings | Argonath Sculpture

Lord of the Rings Collectibles

Weta has released their latest polystone collectible from Lord of the Rings; this time a great piece showing the Argonath, the two kings seen when traveling the river by the fellowship of the ring.

If you want it don't wait too long though, as it's a limited edition of 500, so move on it before they're gone. This will be a great addition to any Lord of the Rings collection.

Collectible Guns | Thompson Contender

Collectible Guns

Thompson Contenders are great for putting together interesting combinations, and the one shown here includes a 10" HEX barrel, a rare caliber, 30 carbine.

Some collectors and gun users consider the .30 carbine round to not be as good as the .357, but when desiring a semi automatic, a .30 is very tempting to employ for the gun.

A .357 is usually preferred for a lever gun or revolver, making the .30 harder to find.

Vintage Fashion | Khaki Skirt Dress

Vintage Fashion

This is one reason why vintage and collectible fashion is so fun to wear, look at and write about.

I love this beautiful full skirt khaki stripe faux lace dress showcased here, and the design on the chest and skirt are wonderful in their simplicity and beauty. Love those pleats as well.

That belt is also very nice. A great vintage dress that has long stood the test of time and still looks great when looking at and wearing it.

Collectible Dolls | Miss Kitty's Stroll

Collectible Dolls

This limited edition of Robert Tonner's Miss Kitty's Stroll is exquisite, and while representing a fictional time, definitely has a touch of Victorian in her look and clothes.

She is elegant, and carries the vintage look very well. The doll is 18" tall and made of vinyl. With only 200 made worldwide, it isn't an easy doll to find, but an extraordinary addition to any doll collectors collection.

Collectible Bottles | Antique Seltzer Bottles

Collectible Bottles

Collectible Seltzer bottles are becoming increasingly popular, and from these nice looking ones, you can see why.

While the colors are nice, the art etchings on them are especially nice, and company logos always a major part of the attraction.

Bottles are among some of my favorite collectibles, and Seltzer bottles are definitely part of that enjoyment.

Coca Cola Collectibles | Large Cooler

Coca Cola Collectibles

When I looked at this Coca Cola cooler on wheels, it reminded me of one I had years ago, which was given to me by a school. I didn't have it home for more than a day when someone came by and made me a big offer on it.

That made me realize that Coca Cola coolers were highly collectible and hard to get.

While mine wasn't this exact model, it was a great cooler I used for it's original purpose.

Thinking back on this, it is strange, as I can't remember what I did with my Coca Cola cooler.

Classic Motorcycle | Moto Guzzi 254 quattro

Classic Motorcycle

This photo of a Moto Guzzi 254 Quattro, is of a 1979 bike with very little wear and tear, and everything on it is original.

This Moto Guzzi 254 Quattro has a 238 cc four cylinder four stroke engine.

I never get tired of seeing older motorcycles, no matter what the time period is, and this Moto Guzzi, while not having the feel of a chopper or a customized look, still is worth a look, to show what was being used in that particular time period.

Classic Bicycles | Singer British Challenge Highwheel

Classic Bicycles

In the photo above, you have the 1885 Singer British Challenge highwheel, manufactured by the Coventry Machinists' Company in Coventry, England.

This is a great example of a highwheel from that period, as the majority of parts are orginal, giving you an almost exact look at what it looked like coming out of the factory in that day.

The height of the front wheel is 56 inches, while the back wheel is 18 inches in diameter, and weight in at close to 60 pounds.

Black Memorabilia | Boy Holding Lantern

Black Memorabilia

I really like this concrete figure of black memorabilia showcasing a young boy holding a lantern.

Those vivid dark features really stand out nicely with the bright colors painted on the figure.

He looks like he's out at night looking for something. Nice concrete figurine.

Antique Marbles | German and American

Antique Marbles

Here's a nice look at some antique marbles from America and Germany; both handmade and machine made. Some are obvious as to how they were made and others not so obvious.

I included these to help you distinguish and be able to better identify some of the quality antique marbles you could find on the market. This is a nice collection here.

Antique Toilet | Victorian Style Toilet

Antique Toilet

While most of us don't think in terms of toilets and artwork, many of the antique toilets from the past are made beautifully, and were considered a piece of artwork, not only a practical device to use.

As you can see from this Victorian style toilet made by T.R. & Company in 1902, this fills the bill exactly.

What is interesting to me is that beautiful toilet, and than the inclusion of what looks like a somewhat boring oak finished tank. While it looks nice, it seems to clash with the toilet style.

Either way, a nice piece of art, in spite of its purpose.

Antique Lamps | Argand Bronze Lamp

Antique Lamps

Very few things are as nicely made as an antique lamp, and this Argand bronze antique lamp. - Ca 1850 - is a beauty.

These types of lamps go so nicely with almost any home decor, and the Argand Bronze Lamp is fantastic.

I always have enjoyed those hanging parts coming down from the globe holders, and they look very unique and different than some of the others out there.

Nice looking Argand Bronze Lamp, which would look great in any home.

Antique Jewelry | Antique Dragonfly Jewelry

Antique Jewelry

Antique jewelry is considered an antique when it's 100 years older or more, and can divided into periods like Georgian, Early Victorian, Mid-Victorian, Late Victorian, Arts and Crafts era, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro. This piece of antique jewelry shaped as a dragonfly is really a nice piece, as you can see in the photo. Who wouldn't want that?

Jewelry is a highly collectible category, and antique jewelry is highly desirable by collectors, who can't seem to get enough of it.

Consequently, with all that competition for antique jewelry, it gets harder and harder to find great stuff, let along great jewelry at a good price. But it can be found, and that's part of the fun of collecting jewelry: the hunt. Enjoy this great piece in the photo.

Antique Hardware | Door Handles

Antique Hardware

Finding great, genuine antique hardware, while not impossible, gets harder and harder, but when you do find great pieces, they can really set off your decor, like these terrific door handles, that include ... well, hands, as you can see.

Not only are these winsome and fun, but they go great with the decor they're set on.

This is why so many people hunt and hunt for these types of antique hardware to include in their home decor, as they offer something unique and compelling, while looking great.

Black Memorabilia | Figurine of Boys

Black Memorabilia

There is a lot of black memorabilia on the market, and it is highly desired. This quality piece of three young black boys eating watermelon by a fence is really nicely done.

Evidently some people get upset in seeing a figurine or piece of art like this, but in this case I can't see why. It's just a very well done piece of art which is a great collectible and a look at the past of American blacks. The work itself is of very high quality in my estimation.

Classic Film Posters | James Whale's Frankenstein

Classic Film Posters - Frankenstein 1931

What's not to love about classic film posters, and here's one from the 1931 version of Frankenstein from director James Whales.

It seems horror film posters continue to remain extreme collectible and valued by film buffs, and I don't think we'll see that change any time soon. Great film poster.

Classic Bicycles | High Wheel Kangeroo

Classic Bicycles

In an age before bicycles were even named bicycles, there were the High Wheel models, which were a challenge for those attempting to ride because of the numerous accidents related to the poor balance of the front high wheel which moved so quickly, causing the inbalance to happen.

Here's a photo of the 'Kangeroo,' from John Kemp Starley, developed in 1878.

Vintage Fountain Pens | Pelikan 100 Lapis Yellow from 1930

Vintage Fountain Pens

I'm not sure where it came from, but I've always loved fountain pens, and vintage fountain pens are among one of my favorite collectibles.

In the photo above it's a Pelikan 100 Lapis Yellow from around 1930. I really like its simple shape and nice handle.

I used to practice calligraphy, and so used fountain pens a lot, probably where I started enjoying the vintage ones. Great collectible to get into, and not that difficult to find.

Collectible Bottles | Cobalt Blue Bottles

Collectible Bottles

The deep blue of the cobalt blue bottles attracts many bottle collectors to them, and for good reason: they look fantastic.

In this photo of these two cobalt blue bottles, the one on the left is labeled "Bromo-Seltzer Emerson Drug Co Baltimore, MD (in capital letters), while the one on the right wasn't identified.

Of course the Bromo-Seltzer bottle is collectible from more than one sector of collectors.

But even if you just want something to look great in your home the cobalt blue bottle is an extraordinary piece to add to your decor.

This is why collecting bottles are so fun and desirable; they have many uses and are very profitable if you want to sell them. Cobalt blue collectible bottles are among the most beautiful and desirable.

Vintage Fashion | Fantastic Vintage Dresses

Vintage Fashion - Dresses

These vintage dresses are fantastic in their look and design, and anyone would love to have them - either in their wardrobe, or as collectible pieces on display for friends and family to enjoy.

What a remembrance of a time long gone this dresses bring to us, and you can almost feel the time period when viewing them.

Really nice vintage fashion and dresses from the early 20th century.

Figurine of Sawyer from "Lost"

Collectible Figurines

While many of us consider a collectible needing to be old, that's far from true in a lot of instances, and when looking at this figurine from the popular "Lost" tv series of Sawyer, you can see why.

Let's face it, if we didn't collect newer figurines like Sawyer from Lost, there wouldn't be any interest or market years down the road.

Anyway, this is a nice figurine and a good one for any fan of the Lost TV series, or anyone that likes figurines, celebrity or entertainment memorabilia.

Case 6240 SS Dogleg Jack- red bone handle

This nice case 6240 SS Dogleg Jack knife is a great addition to any knife collector's collection.

The red bone handle is highly desired by a number of Case knife collectors, and many are willing to pay a good price for getting that color.

Overall a real nice Case knife, and one that should be part of any knife fan's collection.

Vintage Tattoos | Classic Cars

Vintage Tattoos of Classic Cars

When I saw these vintage tattoos of classic cars, I had to include them, as they were really captured well, and the artwork and color unveils the time capsule these cars always will exist in.

To me the sun and the skull take away from the classic car tattoos, and I would have rather had them out of the picture, which makes me think they may have been inked before the idea of the classic car tattoos were thought of, and so had to be worked around rather than removed; which is very expensive to do.

But as far as the classic car tattoos go, they are fantastic, and the tattoo designer and artist did a great job in showing how they looked and capturing their essence in that time capsule.

Click on the image to get a real good look at the classic car tattoos, as they enlarge nicely to see much more clearly.
